In the summer of 2003, I had the opportunity to study abroad in France. I visited Normandy and saw Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, and the American Cemetary.

I also visited the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia. It was built in Bedford because proportionally, Bedford suffered the nation's greatest D-Day losses.
