Here are several ways to know if your tree is healthy or not:

Knowing the Indications of an Unhealthy Tree

It is an excellent move to understand the indications of an unhealthy tree if you want to prevent property damage or harming other people. One aspect that a lot of homeowners do not know is that a single sick tree can affect others. This will lead to widespread tree diseases on your property.

When checking the health of your tree, here are several things to look for:

Unusual Growth Around or On the Tree

Almost all tree decay starts with rotting on the interior side of the tree. Thus, it can be hard to see using our naked eyes. But, one way to know if your tree is already in a state of decay is to look around the tree for mushrooms growing from the ground. It’s an indication that your tree might be close to dying if fungus directly grows on the tree.

There’s a high chance that your tree has been rotting for several years already if the mushrooms start to grow around or on the tree. This means that your tree is almost at the end of its life. Crumbling sections of the branches or trunk together with the growth of mushroom will verify that you will need a tree removal service.

The Appearance of the Tree

Oftentimes, you can identify the condition of the tree by just closely looking at its structure. You can begin by checking the branches and trunk of your tree. Are there deep cracks in the branches of the tree? Is your tree missing sections of bark? Both of these are noticeable indications of an unhealthy tree. Oftentimes, a stick tree will show indications on the exterior side, whether the cause is a tree illness, ineffective pruning, or poor climate.

Other visible indications of tree diseases include missing leaves on branches during fall, summer, and spring. In addition to that, it can indicate an infestation of insects if the leaves have weird color-changes. This is a huge issue. It’s an indication that the disease of the tree has progressed and it might be dying if the branches or trunk of the tree begin to develop cavities or deep holes.

Bands of yellow and dark green on tree needles or purple, brown, or black leaves indicate an illness when it comes to discoloration. The tree might have a root rotting illnesses known as armillaria if you see lighter blotches or bleached wood on the bark.

When you see some of these signs, it is best to contact a professional arborist for a complete inspection.
